Since the 166 is a 3 way bookshelf from the same era, is it right to apply the blanket statement that the 166 Oct 25, 2008 · L100 is a near-perfect small room (think: dorm room) speaker, if, as Widget recommends, you get them up off the floor, and if you want vintage JBL early 70s sound. The imaging on these is surreal, pure holographic. I currently have a set of L100’s (currently being repaired and restored STILL) and 4311’s and am wondering if the 4312 are different enough to merit the investment into yet another set of iconic speakers. I'm thinking strongly about buying one of these models but am having a hard time deciding. East Coast, etc. This probably falls into the "East Coast/West Coast" thing.
